Keeping this in mind we (a party of seven) decided to take a leap of faith and try Correli's for the first time so we could make up our own mind. We got there for a 7:30 reservation and were promptly seated and attended to. The waitress was professional and friendly with a ready smile and good sense of humour. So far so good. The menu carries a variety of foods with very reasonable prices. We were served drinks as ordered and our order was taken in a timely fashion. A variety of seafood, pasta and meat dishes were ordered and all arrived well presented and in copious amounts. The ribs certainly looked like a portion from the 'Flinstones'. Service was very good, yet not intrusive and the meal was enjoyed by all without the sometimes annoying interruptions one might experience by over anxious personnel. I have nothing negative to say about this experience and the entire party went away well fed and satisfied with an enjoyable evening. Value? The entire bill was less then $185.00 tip included. I would consider that a bargain for a restaurant of this calibre. I would not hesitate to return or recommend Correli's. |

| Added Apr 11, 2009 by Bonka of Vancouver (290 Reviews) Hello, can we get some service here? Galavanting our way into Steveston, a few friends and I trotted on by for some Greek after another Greek eatery nearby had far too long a wait time than we were willing to put up with. We waited for about 10 minutes here before being seated but considering how conspicuous the front of room was we stood there for a good 5 minutes before any staff approached us. Sign of things to come.
My friends across the table ordered their separate souvlaki entrees while my buddy next to me and I ordered the behemoth Greek Dinner for 2, which consisted of a dabble of garlic prawns, chicken souvlaki, lamb chops and spanakopita. We forgave the fact that it took about 15 minutes for the staff to realize that we were ready order, and they took our orders before offering any water, but part ways into our meal and still no water in sight or any request to order drinks? Very unprofessional. We had different staff members take turns on our table, with the original waitress seemingly unwilling to come over as we tried to flag her down to order some liquids to go with our meal, since we felt that we had to pay for drinks to get a staff member to stop by our table. Instead, she gestured to another waiter to take our drink order, by now half way through our meal, while he was busy bussing other tables with empty plates in hand. The complimentary bread came midway through the last entree (ours) and by then the bread has lost it's interest. No follow ups on our meal, and by the end of it, we still hadn't received our waters, though our drinks finally did come. The service quality and speed is quite the deception and abhor, the staff looking like they're really busy, but are really doing nothing except putting on a spectacle. I would prefer them just to stand around, so at least I don't have to decipher who is putting on a show and who is actually serving customers. We are all generally quick diners and could easily be out in a hour or so even with slow service, but it took a good 2 hours to leave here. The food was good, but we weren't willing to put up with the sideshow.
Shame, since it is quite the quaint little restaurant, worthy for a date place. |

Had eaten at Correli's before and it had been fairly good, so decided to try again. It was a pretty quiet night there, so we were seated right away. Our waitress was very attentive and our drinks came quickly as did our Casear Salads. My husband was half way thru his when he found a plastic bread tag , he thought that it was just a tough old piece of cheese, in his salad and handed it to me! Nice! The waitress was very apologetic, but what had started out as a nice night out, had soured. Make you wonder what else is hiding in you food. |

Food: was pretty good. Some of us had the $20 Italian course where you can pick an appetizer, entree and dessert. I got the pasta entree and was so full that I had to give my dessert to someone else.
Service: The waitresses were both very nice, but there were a lot of mistakes when it came to our order. Wrong things came to the table, there were drinks missing and we had to ask twice for some items. We had to cancel soup because the entrees came before it.
Ambiance: I really liked the front wall because it was made of windows, which lcontributed to the nice lighting..when it got darker, they dimmed the lights, but not too much. The place is small, and it was packed (Tuesday night).
Value: Better than a lot of Greek/Italian Restaurants around.
Overall, I would go back. Perhaps in a smaller group. |

Service - Took a little while to be seated/greeted, but there was only one server and the manager. After we were seated, however, service was good.
Value - The desserts were not the cheapest things in the world, but they were the average price ranging from 6-8 dollars.
Ambiance - Cozy place that is small and comfortable. Great view because it has windows all around, and Steveston is a great place to look at! |

| Added Aug 23, 2008 by TC1006 of Port Coquitlam (1 Reviews) Disappointing I found the atmospher in Correli's to be very nice, clean and relaxing. We were the very first couple in that night, but about 5 mins later another couple entered, and they sat them right beside us. I found that uncomfortable when the whole restaurant was empty and now we had to sit literally within a foot of each other. The free bread came next, but all u get is 3 chunks of bread between the two of us and never was there an offer of additional bread, so that was disappointing. I had the salmon dinner which was very good, although slightly pricey, but my fiance had the calamari dinner and was very disappointed in the fact that he had this big bed of rice with very very few pieces of calamari sitting on top,and thats the dinner, not the appetizer portion. Overall we were not satisfied and will not be returning. |

| Added Jul 22, 2008 by janedoe of Lower Mainland (1 Reviews) The Service Ruined It All Given the high reviews I've read about Correlis, I decided to give it a try for my birthday. I headed there with a party of 20+ with high hopes. Correlis did a fantastic job of shattering those hopes.
FOOD: The meal itself was decent enough. Had the seafood crepe canneloni... the sauce was nice, crepe was unique, but they should really rename the thing "baby shrimp crepe canneloni". Only other seafood I found was 2 tiny pieces of crab. Florintine (spinach & seafood pasta) was pretty decent. Seafood cakes and pan-fried oysters were standard. Overall, an acceptable meal.
SERVICE: Ok, here is where it all goes sour. The servers seem to have good enough intentions. They were friendly and smiled. But only when they were around. Which wasn't often. Our dinner, chronologically: 1. We had to ask for water 3 times before they finally brought some around after having sat there for 10 minutes. 2. We had to ask them to take our order since they seemed to have forgotten our presence (there were 20 of us in the middle of the restaurant...). 3. They didn't clear the menus until we asked them to, another 10 mins after they had taken our orders. 4. They gave us bread. For HALF the table. We waited, hoping they would bring the rest but it never came. We asked for more bread and they came back with ONE more basket (enough for 5). We had to ask three different servers for bread before we finally had enough for the whole table. Ridiculous. 5. The food came and went, no curteous "how is everything"... but we let that slide. 6. Birthday cake. We brought our own cakes and when they finally brought it out to the table, they gave us no knife to cut it with, no spoons to eat it with, and about 6 plates. Who brings 6 plates for a 20 people? There were no servers in sight, so I had to personally enter the kitchen (twice!) to get enough plates for everyone before they finally smartened up and asked how many spoons we needed. We were splitting up cake for the group... how many spoons do you think we need?!? 7. They wouldn't split the bill up for us. But that's just being nitpicky after a bad night of service.
Overall... the service pretty much ruined the mood of the dinner for us. I wouldn't return, simply because I don't want to put up with that again. If I felt like serving myself, I would've just ate at home.
AMBIANCE: Nice, clean place. Warm decor. |

Was with my boyfriend and while some of the other restaurants had waits Correli's was able to take us in right away. This must of been fate! We sat on their patio which faced some other shops in the complex.
We usually love going and frequenting the restaurants in White Rock since we live so close to it and I'm glad we found a new favorite place to eat at in a similar type of area not too far from where we live.
Service was really good and friendly. Portions were great. I had the fresh halibut and my boyfriend had a schnitzel suggested by our wiatress because he was extra hungry. His dish was MASSIVE and had veggies, potatoes and a huge piece of meat.
They have a fairly extensive menu and we'll be back to try other dishes but we were very impressed with the taste, portion size, service and overall ambiance. We wished they had a waterfont view but i guess they can't have it all now could they? |

| Added May 13, 2008 by makeup_girly of Vancouver (46 Reviews) Pass the salt This is another restaurant that locals should try...how much fish & chips can one take?
Hubbie & I went for dinner recently. The place was very busy and I was glad that I made reservations. The crowd was mostly families and, aheh, older folks. Ambiance was very cosy and we liked that--the clean and bright cosy, not the dark and cluttered cozy...
I like my food well seasoned (with salt) and my husband a little less so, but even he felt like the chef could do with a few more grains of salt in all the food. The seafood cakes were almost salty enough but was a little overwhelmed by oilyness--could have soaked on some paper for a little while longer...
My lambchops were really good, but again, needed a lot more salt. Not quite the same taste effect if you salt it at the table. My husband's dinner of oysters was pretty good too...of course I sampled!
I must remark that Correli's is extremely generous with their portions. Good prices too. Families could really benefit because it would be really easy to share the giant entrees.
I would go back. |
| Added May 9, 2008 by nomy106 of Vancouver (6 Reviews) Was very impressed My boyfriend and I ate here last Thursday in the evening. It was pretty busy and we really didn't expect to have such a fabulous meal.
We were picking up my mother in law at the airport and decided to go to the Steveston area since it was close and we really didn't know our way around the rest of Richmond. We walked around the restaurants and we felt like pasta so we ended up here.
I wish they had one of these down in Kits where we live. I had some pasta dish with spicy sausage and penne pasta and it was awesome. My boyfriend had a seafood canelloni which was suggested by our server and he absolutely loved it.
Prices were MORE than reasonable and we're really considering taking my mom in law for Mother's day here now. It's worth the drive for us and we're just sick of chain restaurants and all the sub par boutique restaurants we seem to run into.
Several other dishes went by us during our meal that looked tempting so we're really looking forward to our next visit! |
| Added Apr 25, 2008 by charisma of Surrey (3 Reviews) Excellent all round I was meeting my brother in Richmond and we ate at this restaurant a couple nights ago on a Wednesday. We're always trying to find a new place to eat every week when we hang out and we're happy we found this place.
We walked around the Steveston area looking for a place to eat and we were somewhat turned off by the empty restaurants around Corellis. They were very busy so we wanted to see what the hype was about.
Service was prompt and we were greeted almost right away. Good sign. We sat in a booth table and the restaurant had a very upbeat feel to it.
Meals were fantastic. I had the Seafood Canelloni and my brother had Lamb chops. Both very tasty and I couln't point out anything bad about it. Mine especially was awesome! Presentation wasn't inspiring but this isn't a 5 star establishement either and we're not paying 30$ a dish.
The only thing we didn't like was that we could hear the kitchen at times since I believe it was right behind us but it wasn't too much of a bother.
I can see why it's so busy here and especially for a Wednesday in what seemed to be a very quiet Steveston.
Excellent value, great ambiance (we really loved the music they were playing) and food was excellent and the whole experience better than expected.
If we run into a string of bad resturant pickings in the future we'll definetely be coming back here and the I'll be ordering the Seafood Canneloni again.. it's to die for! |

It's a moderately sized restaurant with a Mediterranean theme and upon getting our table we were greeted very promply by our waitress. It seemed like there was maybe only two waitresses working and this place was completely PACKED.
Our food was fantastic and were were totally blown away by our final bill. My date and I are used to dining all over and we were able to get a full three courses and a couple of glasses of wine for under 80$!
I can see why they're busy .. they have no competition! Better food, better service and great ambiance.
We wished there were still more options in the Steveston area with high calibre standards but I simply haven't found any until now. |

The service was and fast & friendly. Drinks were asked and was served in no time. We took our time making up our mind and no one bothered us till we were ready. We ordered three different foods from the menu and shared to taste all. Very well prepared. Food was not warm, but was tasty. I have been here before for lunch. This is the first trime for dinner and I will recommend this place to anyone. Make reservations, even though this website says otherwise. Enjoy. |
| Added Jun 27, 2007 by cakone of Richmond (54 Reviews) What happened... After 2 previous glowing reviews of this restaurant by myself, I thought I'd better give it another go for 2nd time since my last 2 reviews.
I don't know what happened to this place, but it certainly has gone down-hill. My husband & I walked in & were seated immediately, however the server did not come over for at least 10 mins. The place had 4 other patrons in it, so it was not busy. The waitress finally came by & took our orders. The food took what seemed forever to come out & when it arrived, it was only mediocre in taste. Not like what I had remembered from my other 2 visits. Seems quality in food & staff has been compromised. There are far too many restaurants to frequent this one anytime soon again. |
| Added May 19, 2007 by reuben of richmond, bc (37 Reviews) Last time! I had lunch here and I didn't have a good experience. Service was indeed prompt and pleasant, however the food was a disapptment. I ordered the calamari and my friend ordered her schnitzel. My calamari was tough and rubbery. The portion was 1/4 the size of the plate, with the pita bread filling the remainder. My friend thought her schnitzel had a bit of a freezer burn taste to it. Little portion as well. We definitely won't be making a return visit. Huge disapptment. We felt the reviews about this place was exaggerated. Agh. |
| Added Mar 10, 2007 by ilikerice of Richmond (14 Reviews) 's OK I wouldn't rave about Corelli's but I would definitely go back. The service was very prompt and the food came really quickly; almost too quickly. The calamari was probably the best I've ever had and an extremely generous portion, with a perfect ratio of "rings" and "spiders". My schnitzel was huge, delicious and nicely accompanied by assorted vegetables and potatoes. I did the best I could but there was no way I could finish it. My husband's found the fish and chips to be "not too bad". One place they could make a big improvement would be the bread. It was the worst, supermarket-style, bland, white, pre-sliced bread I've ever had in a restaurant. A crusty, chewy, true french loaf would have been perfect with the food. Another thing that would improve the rating is the ambience - there really isn't any. Lastly, the older man at the bar (who I think is the owner) is not doing the business any good either. He seems to be in no hurry to tend to the business of processing payments and hardly acknowledges people waiting at the door. Would it kill him to ask if we enjoyed our meal or exchange pleasantries? If you're just going to be cranky then maybe you should stay in the back and leave the front of the house to someone else.

| Added Feb 18, 2007 by foodiephil of Richmond (49 Reviews) I guess I had a different experience... After reading some reviews here about this place, we decided to check it out despite a warning from our neighbour not to.
We had been seated for maybe 5 seconds... literally... and the waitress came over to take our order. We had to let her know we'd been seated only just now, and we were still taking off coats and so on. ... x
We ordered an appy platter to share, but asked if the shrimp could be put to one side... the explanation being that if the other food touches the shrimp, I won't be able to eat it, seeing as how I'm allergic to shrimp. There was no problem with this request, but it came out with the smoked salmon sitting ON TOP of the shrimp (rendering it poisonous to me) and the shrimp and salmon were covered in that yucky red seafood sauce you would expect to get on the Prairies, not 3 feet from where the Fraser River empties into the Pacific. ... x
Food comes. The Linguini dish for my mother in law (in which the noodles have been so overcooked they were limp and mushy) has parmesan cheese on it, even though we emphasized on many, many occassions it can have no cheese.
I kid you not. The waitress takes a spoon from the table, scrapes the white shavings off the top of the dish, and says, "This isn't cheese." I said, "Ok, no problem. I'm just wondering what it is, then?" She takes the spoon with shavings into the kitchen. A moment later, she comes back without the spoon and says, "I just tried it. It's not cheese." She wasn't willing to back down from this position, so we moved on... x
Guess what?
It was cheese... x
None of our dinners were any good - certainly not worth the money in any way - but one dish DID rock... the baked oysters. They were, indeed, excellent.
One last point... we waited for 15 minutes at the entrance, tho' we'd made a reso, and tho' the place had more than enough tables to accommodate us. The host made it seem as if 5 was an inconvenient number for him. ... x
Bye, bye Correli's. |
| Added Sep 3, 2006 by pastamachine of Richmond (37 Reviews) Jewel in Steveston This has got to be the best kept secret in town, serving up scrumptious seafood and mediteranean cuisine. I have been here a few times now and everything is fantastic. The shrimp linguine is absolutely fabulous, there are prawns and shrimps in every bite (unlike cactus club), prawns have a nice texture, the baby shrimps sweet, and the pasta is cooked very well. The seafood burger is quite delicious too, the patty is quite flavourful and each item can be identified in the patty. This isn't one of those places that throws in an all mushed up patty where you can't tell what you're eating. My friend had a seafood salad which was loaded with assorted varieties of the fresh tasting namesake. There is always a special on that is worth checkin out. This place is extremely affordable too, all lunch dishes are around $10, an unbelievable bargain for the food you get. You'd be in shock when the bill comes to see how much it cost for such delectable food. A definite must! |
| Added May 22, 2006 by cha of Richmond (22 Reviews) Great Restaurant We went there for lunch and the place was busy, yet the service was prompt. We shared a bowl of Manhattan Clam Chowder which was superb. For $5.95 it was a steal. I ordered a warm Tiger Prawns & Mushroom Salad and my husband had a Seafood Burger. We love seafood and are fussy with the way it's cooked, but Correli impressed us both with the way they do it just right. My Tiger Prawns were succulent and perfectly cooked. The Burger was very flavourful as well. The total bill came just abount $30 including coffee and tea. Not bad at all. Next time we will try dinner here - they have a very good drink list (martini, cocktail, rum, cognac, etc). Very good restaurant. |
| Added Mar 3, 2006 by cakone of Richmond (54 Reviews) So good! Went here again (for dinner this time )... it was so incredible I had to sbumit a new review for 5 ***** stars!
While we were reviewing the dinner menu outside the restaurant, a couple exiting the restaurant urged us to go inside because... I quote "the food was amazing!!" So in we went...
To make it even more intriguing for us, the couple sitting beside us received their entrees (steak) as we were being seated. We overheard them raving about their meals to each other. Yeah!! Bring on the food!
I had the stuffed wild salmon (w/crab & shrimp), served with mixed veggies & rice. Mmmm, it was superb! My partner ordered the Cordon Bleu Schnitzel (pork), and mixed veggies. I..., never having tried Schnitzel decided to have a bite....it was so good (and I'm not a huge pork fan). Took home 2 pieces of cheesecake w/berry coulis as it looked amazing. We have yet to try it but I'm sure we won't be disappointed.
Way to go Correli's! This is my new favorite restaurant in Richmond. Note: The reviewer has submitted a more recent review for this restaurant. This review does not affect the overall rating and is displayed for information purposes only. |
