Cheesecake - good, coffee - respectable, panini - meh
Trees has just moved to its new location on Pacific and Richards. I miss the sparkly tree they had at the Granville location and the chairs and seats seem placed a little awkwardly right now. But overall, the decor is pretty cool. The service is pretty friendly and quick.

Food/drinks-wise:
I had the white chocolate mocha - it wasn't as good as my favorite (Starbucks) but it was pretty good, nevertheless. My grilled Mediterranean baguette was not as flavorful and wholesome as I would have liked. I took some white chocolate-banana cheesecake home and that was pretty good. It wasn't the best cheesecake I have *ever* had, but definitely very good. It's what I'll be going back to Trees for.

Cheesecake & Coffee.
I wanted to try another coffee place and stumble across this spot. Its been here for awhile and thought I would give it a try.

I had notice they had a variety of cheesecakes, seeing article voted the best in the city, how can anyone resist. I found the service was friendly, and ordered the Chocolate Swirl Cheesecake to go, wasn't hungry early in the morning for anything sweet.

I sat down to drink my coffee, smooth with a nice aroma, and I must have missed the rush, found it to be relaxing. When I got home, I was ready for the cheesecake, it was moist, fresh with a nice taste to it. I was glad I took it home, since it was on the rich side and took a couple of days to eat it. The slice was large, and I plan to go back again to enjoy another piece of Cheesecake and Coffee.

Take a break from downtown shopping
I looooooove their mango cheesecake. Their slices are bigger than most places and has a very nice texture with real mango chunks in there.

The drinks are good too, much better than the standard Starbucks/Blenz stuff. I don't know about take-out, but when you sit down, the drinks are quite large. Cake + coffee is a perfect snack to be shared by two.

Thanks to our Entertainment book coupons, it comes out to about $5 too. It's a great deal (wouldn't be w/o the coupon though). We normally go at the end of a downtown shopping trip. The staff are friendly, and it has a good atmosphere to just sit and relax away from all the happenings around downtown. Try it out sometime.

ps. The washrooms are all class too.

Deals galore
This place is great for a snack and ethical coffee.

It's easy to try this place out since they have a coupon in the Entertainment book which will get you a really nice lunch or snack for $5 or under. They are also part of the Shop Granville initative so get yourself signed up so you can get a free latte when you purchase one of their decadent cheesecakes. For those who really enjoy the products they have frequent buyers cards so you can at least get something once you have purchase many coffees and/or cheesecakes.

Stop buy even if just to check out how the Canada Line is doing.

Best Cheesecake ?? Really you need to get out more
OKAY , I love cheesecake.
I buy one from the local Bakery Its 28 dollars for a cake.
I love it. Very good, much better then trees.
I saw the sign on the street. Best cheesecake in Vancouver.
Great I looked forward to having some, I went in and looked at the glass display case, lots of cakes to choose from.
I order the moocha cake as it had the fewest amount left I figured this was the most popular.
I also got a coffee. Total 8.50.
I like how the cake was presented, chocolate on the plate and whip cream. But the cake was a little dry the outside edges old and rubbery. This cake seemed like it was a few days old. What a disappointment.
I love cheesecake, I will never have a piece here again.

thumbs up!
prompted by my friends, I stopped in, grabbed a slice of the NY Cheesecake and a latte to go.

The cheesecake is very good. I hesitate to call it the best in the city, I've also enjoyed equally good cheesecake in a handful of other restaurants and dessert shops around town.

The latte was excellent.

The feel of the room is... rustic? The weather beaten wood finishing feels that way, perhaps could use more colour, but new I'm nit-picking to find something to criticize.

Don't diss the cheesecake!
While I admit I haven't tried their cider, I did order their coffee and cheesecake, and unless you've tried it, you can't say it's not the best!

Their cheesecakes are light, and delicious, and the coffee is really good too! Go on the weekend evenings, when there is live music, and enjoy the atmosphere!

my place of refuge in downtown
A nice place to take refuge to in Downtown, when every corner you turn you are greeted with (haunted by) Starbucks or Blenz, and when you feel like having something other than a Double-Double from Timmy's. I always like to sit in the patio outside the entrance -- but only after I am comfortably used to being asked for change every so often by the panhandlers passing by. The coffee is indeed pretty good. They have free wifi & the connection was pretty smooth the few times I used it.

The best cheesecake
Outside Trees on Grancille St. they have a sign "The best cheesecake in Vancouver" I am not crazy about cheesecakes but I had to try this one. Well the sign is absolutely right! THEY HAVE THE BEST CHEESECAKE EVER! The slice is huge and decorated with chocolate, caramel sauce & tons of whipping cream, AMAZING!
First time in this cafe and it is absolutely fantastic, the atmosphere is great and they also have amazing coffee; organic and fair-trade. The coffee is roasted inside the cafe in a cool antique looking roaster. I only had the cheesecake and a latte but their paistries looked yummy! The sandwiches were sold out so I asume they are very good too.
I will defenitaly make this my new favourite coffee shop, who would've thought that in downtown you could find such cool place. They are very busy so the line up was a bit long - let me tell you...It is worth the wait and the staff is very friendly. Definately recomend this place!
