Worst experience ever
I've been to this location many times (with pretty consistent, good service + food) and what happened yesterday was the worst experience I've ever had! After this, I won't go back again.

When my friends and I first approached the entrance, one of the employees (a server) was having a smoke about 2 feet from their take-out window. When we got close, the server finished her cigarette and walked in front of us, with the disgusting smell of cigarettes trailing behind her... .. very appetizing. Once we got inside, we stood with 2 other parties for 10 minutes even though there were 5 empty tables. When the host finally decided to help us, he sat me and my friends at a dirty table all the way at the back. We sat at the table for around 20 minutes before one of my friends had to flag one down really loudly. Our server came over and all he said was "hi, what's up?". No "what can I get for you" or "would you like any drinks"...he just asked us "what's up" and stood there until my friends told him we're ready to order. We also asked him to wipe our table since the host or busboy didn't (there was solid food on the table and the host put our menus on top of it....I had to get tissue from my bag to wipe off the stuff).

The only good thing that came out of this was the server who gave us our food. He was really polite and friendly. But, because of our original server's mistake, he gave me a beef burger even though I ordered the chicken one....this just added onto our already crappy night. The guy who gave us our food, however, was kind enough to offer to remake my friends' dishes since they waited for my chicken burger. Btw, the food was decent but nothing special (fries were over-salted tho).

When we were all done with our food, we waited a good 20-25 mins before we got impatient and I had to go find my server to get the bill...I don't think I can go back for a long time unless they get their act together. Those other employees could really learn a thing or two from the awesome server.

Inconsistent
I have eaten at all of the Cafe Crepes in Vancouver and find that there is no consistency to their food or service. Firstly, there was a line up at the door, no hostess, and i counted 7 empty tables. No staff member organizes or takes care of the door. My friend and I waited 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. When we were seated we waited for a while for any server, ordered, and waited 15 minutes for our drinks. We could see our drinks (a coffee and a milkshake) sitting by the bar for a while and finally the bartender brought them over. Perhaps that was why the milk shake was simply chocolate milk consistency. When the food finally arrived, and it was a while, the pizza crust was very chewy. The panini was good, but not outstanding. The server never checked on us again and I finally went up to the bartender to ask to pay my bill because no one seemed to notice that we were done eating, despite almost all of the tables being empty by the time we finished. Cafe Crepe needs to schedule more staff so that things run more efficiently and smoothly.

Money's worth for food, but not my priceless time.
Decent-to-average food at so-so prices. For what it was and what I paid for it, you'd think you'd get a little more. Portions were skimpy and they didn't use much of the ingredients on each item. At least the milkshakes are good.
Everything, I mean everything from entrees to a glass of water, takes forever. Is that trying to be authentically French? I don't know. For what it was, it should not have taken so long. It was irritating to sit at that table with nothing to eat or drink for about an hour.

It was decently good-looking on the inside, at least.

Poor manager
We liked the food, we liked the atmospher and the server was okay. BUT when we first walked in, an woman who seems to be a manager was VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. For some reason, we felt like she treated us differently than others. The whole experience was ruined thanks to her. If it weren't for her, we would have really enjoyed eating at this place.

I liked it alot.
I came here with a friend a couple weeks, I have been here twice, and the first time coming here was also my first time ever having a crepe. I ordered a double chicken burger with fries, and I also ordered a chocolate crepe.

Well to be honest I think the crepe could have been better with a little less chocolate, but the chicken burger was *FANTASTIC*, though when I ordered an additional side of a chicken breast, I wish they would have asked me before cutting it up. The fries could have been better the first time

The second time I had a double burger and fries. This time all around good, Burger and fries were sensational.

I totally liked the feel to this place. It can be sort of have the feeling to being a lounge if you are there Friday or Saturday night and they have loud music there. I enjoyed the whole atmosphere.

Will return.

Not so crowded and cramped as one on robson
After hearing how much better this place is in reference to the robson branch, i decided since i loved crepes to give it another try.

Well i can at least sit down and enjoy my food without feeling like my in a small box or hole. It is more spacious here. The service seemed more decent than robson but there is always an air of confusion as to whether food is going out to the right person, whether it was made or not or whether drinks are being made promptly (all these conversations you can clearly hear from the dining room).

Food prep area is staffed with people that looked like they don't know food safe. A girl was handling money on the take out window one moment and then when finished with the task, without washing her hands, went to make some hot drinks and plate food. (all this we observed as we waited to be seated)

One good thing is the hotdog, but better eat it fast or the microwaved bun will get hard when you bite into it. Once again i'll mention the chicken...is that really chicken meat you are using to fill those crepes or sandwiches, because it honestly doesn't look like or taste like chicken.

I'd only come back for the cheap burgers and fries...not for anything else....on second thought maybe i should skip eating in at all and take out instead!

Filthy hands all over our crepes
No gloves and no washing of the hands. They use their bare hands to handle our food, touch/scratch their faces and continue working! I almost walked away but seeing as we paid $13 for our crepes, we just blocked the sight of her making our crepes with her dirty hands and neon green fingernail polish out of our minds! They don't wear hats, hair nets or tie their hair back. This place is very unsanitary. I took a couple of bites and just couldn't go on. In the trash it went.
The server was incredibly rude. People who ordered after us got their crepes before we did; therefore, we inquired about our order. The server replied with a rude "we're short staffed, you're going to have to wait". Rude!

Great Service
Located just a few blocks away from the other Cafe Crepes, my experience at this location was completely different than at the other one. The service was top notch here. The server was friendly and checked up on us regularly. Service was prompt.

The seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was pleasant. My only complaint about the ambiance would be that some of the booth seats were repaired with duct tape.

For what it is, the crepes were nice. I usually like to order the chocolate, walnut, banana, and coconut crepe. Given that an average crepe place would have a food rating of 3, I would rate the food here as 3.5-4.0 so I'll round it up to 4.

Great place to eat.
I went to Cafe Crepe at Granville and Smithe last month and had a great time all-round, and I felt that some praise should be given to the staff at cafe Crepe at this location. From start to finish my experience was fun, fast, and competent. I noticed the staffing was much less than that of Cafe Crepe's other locations, but the staff seemed to be more than capable to handle the extra duties. Our particular server knew the menu back to front, and answered our many questions. And on top of all this...he was very good-looking (sorry, had to say it). Management seemed to have everything under control and working smoothly, as she was almost "omnipotent."
My only two complaints of the whole event if I had to think of something critically would be that my chicken burger bun was a tad cold. There was also some confusion about "waiting to be seated or not." I looked for a sign, but there was none. That's it.
I hope that everyone has a chance to visit this amazing location. It's definitely worth it!
