Fantastic Food and People
I love this place . The food is first rate ! I am so lucky to live in the same city as Prairie Cottage . I could not get a better meal ! I just love everything about it . Come check it out if you get a chance , you will not be disappointed . If you want something sweet to eat after your meal , just ask as Judy makes awesome pies and other delights that do not appear on the menu . I have brought all my family and friends here to eat and everyone loves it .

Traditional prairie food seasoned with a cup of care
There are very few choices for russian/ Ukrainian in the lower mainland. Even if there were I am sure that this restaurant would top our list. It really is just a hole in a wall between a gourmet food store and a butcher and does not even have it's own entrance. It is very clean and tastefully decorated... just a little hard to find.

It is worth the search! The food is homemade and you can taste the freshness of the ingredients. I normally don't like cabbage rolls, but theirs are so tender and tasty that I can't resist them. The borsht is so good that it makes you feel more healthy after eating it. Everything is just wonderful.

The service is very informal, but always warm, caring and engaging. You can tell that the people that work there are genuinely nice people.

The portions are great and the value is outstanding. The quality and quantity of food is not represented well by the meagre prices on the menu.

I am glad of the location, otherwise I am sure that the prices would have to be much higher.

I always come hungry and leave full and with a smile.

Yes just like bubba use to make. we rate the food a 10 out of 10. The owner said they sell these perogies a Tommy's in nvan also but I will be ordering some today to take home from her website. Great comfort food
Went here with my wife for a lunch. The food and service was delighful. I ordered the sausage, with coleslaw, cabbage rolls with both meat and veggie and perogies. I also ordered the borsh soup which was surprisingly different and tasty. My wife ordered the perogies and cabbage rolls and she was very happy with this establishment. If you are looking for some food that taste like home cooking and for a reasonable price, then this is the place.

Yummy Perogies
Stopped in for lunch today with my mom. Perogies are a favourite of mine, and these were very tasty. I ordered the #3 perogies, kielbassa, slaw and some sour cream. Mom had the deli sandwich and a cup of borsch. Food was very tasty, good size portions, (half of the sandwich was taken home). Service was very friendly. Busy place, both with dine in and take away. Would go here again.

Good Lunch, Cafe-style
Had lunch here with my wife. Both of us ordered the same thing: Combo #2, with 3 pierogies, 2 cabbage rolls, 1/2 kolbassa, and slaw, with a generous helping of sour cream. All of the food was good. I must say that I have had better kolbassa -- this one was fairly mild -- but the pierogies were delicious. The cabbage rolls were filled with meat and rice and had a little dollop of tomato sauce underneath them. They were good but nothing to write home about. This was a mere $6.95. Diners at other tables were getting enormous bowls of soup (presumably borscht, with long curly purple beet shavings on top), which was something like $5 or $5.50. Definitely a nice place to go to get good food and not spend a lot.

The place is actually connected to a butcher shop and a gourmet food store. There are about 6 tables in the main dining area and a few more in the foyer. The decor is nothing special, unless you like looking through a window at a meat case, and the drinks are all self-serve (pour your own coffee or water, or get a can or bottle out of the refrigerator). The woman serving us was perfectly pleasant and efficient.

It's not especially close to where I normally go, and I wouldn't drive way out of the way to go back there, but I would definitely stop in again if I am in the area and hankering for a good lunch.

Great Place for Filling Meal
I really enjoyed my meal here. I had the lunch #5 with perogies, cabbage rolls, sausage and coleslaw. It was well prepared, served promptly piping hot. An out-of-the-way place but worth another visit as the prices are reasonable for the amount of food served. The decore was simple yet neat and tidy. Our servers were friendly and professional.

Yummy
Just the kind of place I like. I felt like I walked into my Grandma's kitchen. The perogies are terrific, made with heart and soul, with a nice dollup of sour cream on the side. The cold slaw was excellent. I didn't have their cabbage rolls because they didn't have any vegetarian ones at the time, I'll have to try them next time. The server was very "real" and authentic, if that makes any sense. I sensed a overall good energy in the food, environment and service.

Excellent Ukrainian Food
The Prairie Cottage Perogies restaurant has the best perogies, borscht, cabbage rolls that I have ever had. For those of us who enjoy good, homemade Ukrainian cooking, that is tasty, this is definitely the place to go to.
I did not have to wait long to get my order and the service was outstanding, friendly with lots of smiles. Also, plenty of sour cream and butter was served.
The restaurant is not only spotlessy clean, it has a warm, homey and pleasant atmosphere, just like eating in your own home, lace curtains and all.
I have been recommending Prarie Cottage Perogies to many and a group of us will be meeting next week, March 12th for a great feast of Perogies. Three of our friends are coming from Bellingham.
It is a must for good, tasty food.

Don't know what happened to my review...?
It ended up that I submitted two reviews. The second one got deleted, for some reason, and the first one doesn't count, because of the second one that disappeared.

ANYWAY, this is a great spot for Ukranian comfort food. We had meat borscht, perogies and kolbassa. ALL very tasty, and this was a SMALL lunch. Food was substantial (of course, Ukranian!) and tasty. The borscht was very, very good. Lots of sour cream to go along with... The coleslaw was fresh, nicely zesty and not too heavy.

We took home frozen borscht, perogies and kolbassa. I'm looking forward to having the food at home.

Amazing Homemade Ukranine!
This is a great little spot for awesome, authentic Ukranine food. My Grandmother is Ukranine, and we've been enjoying her traditional fare since we were kids, I must say this is the next best thing! The perogies are delicious, the service was so warm and friendly, the chef even came out to see how everything was. Though it's not much in the way of ambiance, it's definatley worth a try!

Perogie Perfection
I am not one to normally write a restaraunt review but after experiencing the taste sensation that are the perogies at Prairie Cottage Perogie I just had to do it.

The restaurant itself is a quaint, comfortable and intimate little place tucked away in Langley on the langley Bypass. I was made to feel very welcome and and the service was quick, courteous and extremely friendly.

But all that paled in comparison to the way my mouth exploded in delight upon taking my first bite of the fully loaded perogies that I ordered, And if that wasn't enough, they have this special cream sauce for their perogies that I have never tasted its equal to, the downside is that something that good would definately not be on a weightwatchers menu but for the occasional indulgence it would give any high end dessert a run for its money.

My side dish was the coleslaw which was also a taste treat, I don't know what recipe they have for the coleslaw dressing but out of this world is an understatement.

There is much more available on the menu from Cabbage Rolls to Koulbasa but I have yet to try them and the only drawback I found is that it is only open for breakfast and lunch. Dinner would be a most welcome addition which I suggested a few times during my meal.

A very freindly, family run business that will no doubt become THE place for Perogies in the Northwest. If you love Perogies or Ukrainian cuisine then I cannot recommend enough for you to experience Prairie Cottage Perogies!
