Too bad it will be closing down soon.
The food was good. My partner and I shared Noodle Bowl and Tofu Shitake Curry dish. The food was tasty, although I wish it was a bit warmer and spicier.
I have to give full credit to the staff working there. The person taking our order (I think he was the owner judging by how people talked to him) was very helpful. Just before our meal arrived the power went out in the building, but he was able to get us our food, and the kitchen staff kept preparing meals using a flashlight and the gas stove.
Too bad this place is closing down, but I don't blame them. Cambie is hell to navigate on foot now and a pain to get to. |

I have sad news.
As a result of the Canada Line construction, Don Don can no longer afford to operate with the drop in business after June 2007. Go before it closes. The food isn't all that memorable, but Simon is worth the visit and then some.

| Added Mar 8, 2007 by justathought of Kitsilano, Vancouver (2 Reviews) Fantastic service, basic but tasty food I've been to the Don Don Noodle Cafe on three occaisions now (spaced over eight months), and the server there recognized me from the most recent visit, six months prior -and- remembered what my father and I had ordered last time "would you like brown rice again?".
The decor isn't great but the atmosphere/vibe is friendly and positive. The food isn't all that special but it's fresh, decently priced and reliably tasty. |

I had the noodle special which tastes like jap chae w/ sukiyaki beef and a bunch of veggies. My friend ordered bibimbap but their's is a bit different; no egg on it. We also had the korokke which is pretty good
Service: Absolutely the friendliest server I have ever had in a restaurant
Ambiance: meh, the place looks cramped... small corridors
Overall: OK |

Dondon has always been reliable. and seriously if that guy could be any nicer. If some of the people in the world were half as nice as him, we wouldn't have so much to worry about.
Lucy was also very nice, the lady who used to run it.
Definitely worth it! |

The food is fresh and they're super flexible if you want to customize your orders. Also, the guy who works there is probably the most agreeable server in the city. It's really laid back and a great place to warm up on a rainy vancouver day. |
